Claude Monet // Artist Research

Claude Monet was a main part in the French Impressionist movement. Monet liked to work with natural light and capturing it at different times in the day. He was well known for his technique with colour and being able to capture the atmosphere of the painting by using light. He also worked with abstract painting which has influenced many abstract artist to this day. Monet himself was partly inspired by Edouard Manet in the way that he was able to steer clear of the art form and style of the time to clearly show true forms and linear perspective and rather be a bit more creative with it, using bold colours and not focusing to hard on perfect technique. In his latter days he began to work with surface effect rather then techniques by painting smaller strokes and building layers. Through his work he inspired other artist to work together and around the Paris area such as Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Alfred Sisley, Edouard Manet and Camille Pissarro. Alongside bringing the artist together he also help with the creating of the exhibition society in which showcased the groups artworks between 1874 and 1886. All in all Claude Monet was a very inspiring and influential artist of his time.
